im 12 and i still suck my thumb. I thought i was way too old to be doing it, and i felt like i was different from everybody else. but from reading this it made me feel better. im trying to quit though

i suck me tumb and im 20 i have since the day i was born,,, my partner thinks its cute, i couldnt care if he taught it was gross,its something i do, and its a comfort thing for me. its only a tumb anyway ha!!

i'm 27 and i still suck my thumb - it's reassuring i think - a nervous thing - i've been in a relationship for 6 six ears and have a child [who incidently doesnt suck his thumb!] there's a lot worse you could be doing!

I love the anonymity of this site to get things off one's chest. I understand you have an issue with anyone finding out you suck your thumb, but seriously, there are far more fatal flaws in a person's character, so I wouldn't put too much worry on it. This is a harsh world to live in, and anything that brings comfort to you, that doesn't harm anyone, is not a problem in my book.

doin it while asleep is one thing doing it to get to sleep you may need prof help ....but if you want to know some one who had this problem , this works go to a pet store and buy Anti chew , its the most vile bitter stuff out there spray it on your thumbs before bed its not smelly or even sticky and you wont put your thumb in your mouth after a while , were all ainmals at the end of the day and you can teech your self tricks enjoy

i miss the comfort that sucking your thumb brings. i had to stop after i had braces and had some teeth out too, so it changed the shape of my mouth and it just wasn't the same anymore :(

Yeah I know someone that used to do that and she was 25 I know another girl doing it at 35. To be honest I find it really gross and I actually could'nt believe the first time I saw her do it. Its stg that needs to be nipped in the bud now. You dont want to be an old woman with a thumb in her mouth. put on that disgusting nail varnish or get hypnosis, stg.... anything to stop that nasty habit!

I'm 24 and still suck my finger and have a blankie! My partner doesn't love it but doesn't berate me for it either. If they love you they'll see it as just part of what they love.
